Fish & chips, Guinness beer and Oscar Wilde quotes – Dublin is a beautiful city with much to explore and appreciate! I personally had 4 nights to enjoy the city, during which I was able to eat great food, meet friendly people, and enjoy the genuinely happy and easygoing atmosphere the city has (+ endure a painful hangover lolol). If you have limited time there, like I did, I suggest squeezing in these 5 activities to make the most of your experience!
Temple Bar
I have to start off by mentioning Temple Bar, the main area in the city center for nightlife, food and entertainment. There’s also a bar within this area named Temple Bar (confusing… I know) which gets very crowded but is still pleasurable. Dublin nightlife is unique and amiable- my favorite part was that there’s live music in the majority of pubs. Despite it being said that the Temple Bar area is somewhat of a tourist trap rather than authentic Irish pub culture, it is still very enjoyable, charming, and highly recommended by me! Temple Bar is also great to visit during the day, for cute restaurants and lovely food markets.

Guinness Storehouse
Going to the Guinness Storehouse is a must when visiting Dublin. The tour gives you an insider’s look into the history and development behind the much-loved beer. At the end of the tour, you get to enjoy a complimentary Guinness pint with a beautiful view on the rooftop bar– Gravity Bar - one of the highest viewing points in the city.

Phoenix Park
Phoenix Park is one of the Ireland’s most famous landmarks. It’s actually the largest park in any European capital- 5 times bigger than London’s Hyde Park. The Dublin Zoo is even located within the park- acclaimed for its commitment and care of the animals. Phoenix Park is perfect for an afternoon wander or grabbing some food to eat under shady wooded areas.

Howth
Get out of the city! Howth is a small fishing town just outside of Dublin. It’s easily accessible by train and definitely worth a few hours of your time. You can go for the day and be back in time for Temple Bar at night! The markets are adorable, and the greenery combined with the sea is enchanting. The pier is lovely and if you’re lucky, you’ll get to spot seals and other cute animals like I did.

Stand up Comedy Show
Dublin has a lot of live entertainment- an aspect of the city that I find particularly charming. I highly recommend catching a stand up comedy show. I went to the Comedy Crunch, located in the basement of The Stags Head- a popular downtown pub. Hilarious jokes, drinks, and free ice cream!
Dublin is one of the most charismatic cities I’ve visited to date, and I highly recommend doing some exploring yourself. Whether you’re there for a weekend or a couple of weeks, I guarantee you will enjoy, as there’s something for everyone!
