It’s here!!! SPRING. The beautiful reminder that summer is only some weeks away.
Spring in Montreal can be gloomy and rainy… But that won’t stop us from pretending like it’s not. When the temperature finally starts going above 0° consistently, we can put away our heavy winter jackets, and pull out some lighter clothes, and lighter makeup looks.
Here’s a simple, quick, and fresh makeup look to wear on both those sunny, and gloomy, spring days.
First thing is applying a lightweight, dewy foundation or BB cream. This look isn’t great with a heavy, full-coverage, matte foundation. Go for something lighter like the Lily Lolo BB cream. Next, apply a small amount of concealer under your eyes and on any particular blemished areas that you’d like heavier coverage on.
Once that’s done, apply a rosy cream blush. Using a cream product is key here, it’ll enhance the dewiness rather than taking it away, as most powder blushes do. I used Benetint by Benefit Cosmetics. Another great thing about cream blush is you can build up the colour to your liking. Start with a thin layer, and build up with more product until you get a healthy looking, rosy flush. If you prefer eco-luxe brands, you should try the multi-bene stain stick from NOTO Botanics.
Then, take some more of that cream blush and apply a thin layer on your eyelids. Using the same product on your eyes will bring cohesiveness to the overall look. Keep the eyes simple by lining them lightly with a dark brown shadow, and add two layers of brown mascara.
Add some highlighter to the cheekbones and bridge of the nose. Lastly, lips. Start by lining and lightly filling them in with a slightly peachy-toned liner. Then, add some pink lip gloss… cause GLOSS IS BACK.
What you’ll have with this look is a glowy, rosy complexion with full, glossy lips. A perfect spring look.
